Five Ways We're Making Sure To Enjoy The Week Ahead
Let me be the first to tell you, if you haven't mailed those Christmas presents yet, maybe you should forget about it. They'll wait.
A special treat for us tomorrow night, the rare "Christmas Star" will be visible for the first time in 600 years. Learn more here. (above: Vincent Van Gogh Starry Night)
In fact, spare yourself the trouble of endless rushing around town and take breather this week. Christmas Eve will arrive on Thursday, stores will close early, and you'll either throw your arms up in defeat or sigh with relief that the end is near. Why not acknowledge right now that you're done.
Being in retail, my family understands that my and Jarrett's schedule is seriously challenged this time of year. We trail Santa by a solid week. While our schedule and the advent calendar are perpetually out of synch, we get super intentional about our celebration of Christmas and our gratitude for all that we enjoy every day of the year.
Here are my ideas for ways you might get some extra pleasure from the coming week:
1. Reverie Cocktail Tasting
We'll say it again, Tony Cross is whipping up the most sublime pre-mixed classics that'll put your holiday spirit in high gear. Plus, they'll deliver right to your door, but get your order in soon!
2. Donna Lane Day Spa
Somadome is the world's first technology enabled meditation pod. Relax, rejuvenate and restore with a Somadome session. It is life-changing - trust me!
3. Restaurant 195
Time to treat yourself to dinner, safely distanced on the heated outside patio - or takeout. Our favorites remain the Sirloin Burger, Beet Salad, and the all-time best Vegetable Masala.
4. Village of Pinehurst
This is the among the best times of year to enjoy an evening stroll through the charming Village. Everything - and I mean everything - is covered in white lights. Have an Irish Coffee at the bar at Villaggio after.
5. The Reservoir
It's hardly a secret that our Reservoir Park is simply perfect, circling the pristine lake, offering amazing views, and with enough ups and downs of terrain to make for a terrific walk, or a very fine run. On my mountain bike, I hit this trail very early in the morning while it's at its most peaceful.
